BIM or Building Information Modeling is the most advanced way of designing, construction, operation, maintenance and final decommissioning of a building. This set of technologies and processes enables all the participants a better and faster communication and cooperation in the designing, construction and management of buildings in the virtual environment, as in BIM modeling virtual information of the building are generated and coordinated.
At the time of general digitalization as well as digitalization of construction industry also the BIM-approach is based on the constant use of digital BIM-models throughout the lifetime of the building – from the initial idea and design, through all phases of detailed planning, to the construction and further to the operation and use of the building.
The BIM-approach significantly improves the information flow among all participants at all stages of the project. This is reflected in the increase in efficiency, mainly due to the reduction of errors and the elimination or the multiplication of information input and easier tracking of changes. When preparing the BIM-model of a building, all participants of the project are involved, so this model is mutually coordinated and any errors are detected much earlier (before the construction phase) which has a positive influence on the value and speed of the construction execution.
The digitalization of the construction industry and related digital planning (BIM modeling) represents the most modern way of designing, execution and management of buildings (our built environment), so in Savaprojekt we have decided to use BIM-technology at our work.
